I'm upgrading to a 4L60e transmission in my '72 Nova that has a SBC running a FAST XFI system (installed 5 years ago--runs fantastic!). I'm working on wiring while the trans is being built. The TCU is a non-FAST (and non-TCI) unit and it needs a TPS and RPM signal.

Question: Can I simply tap into the existing TPS signal wire that runs to the XFI box to provide the signal for the TCU? Similarly, can I tap into the tach output of the MSD 6A box that provides RPM to the XFI unit? Interested to hear how the experts provide these signals to a TCU when an XFI box is already in place and no CAN is available.

Sorry if this has been answered previously--a search of the forum didn't find any relevant threads.

    THANKS

Yep. Both will work just fine.

Thank you sir! Just to confirm, I just need to tap into the signal wire for TPS and leave the sensor power and ground wires from the TCU unterminated, right?

    THANKS

You must connect the grounds together.
