Default trouble setting up geometry on sbf pro actions+ RHS recommend wrong guide plates
Hi , i`m trying to sort out the pushrod length for my setup. 289 block, RHS pro action heads, magnum roller tips, comp cams guide plates (recommended for the rhs heads).

spend literally hours trying to get a good valve stem to rocker tip contact patch and im not getting any better than what you can see in the picture.

also getting incomplete contact you see in the pic, and the rockers seem noticeably skewed. ive beeen reading about a lot of people having the same problem with RHS pro actions and the comp cams guide plates RECOMMENDED BY RHS on the buildup sheet.

i already had massive problems with them sending out the wrong bare heads (1 wrong, one incomplete (missing rocker stud threads), and now this, i`m starting to doubt RHS generally.

cant post links so youll have to add http to see the link

I do not have any issues with the geometry in that picture. The only way to get it any closer to perfect than what you have would be to use an adjustable guide plate. The "skewed" rocker geometry that you are referring to is nowhere near some of the tracks that I have personally seen and run. You are running as centered as you can get and that small amount that it is off on that one side will not affect anything.

what about the size of the witness mark? everyone else is saying too wide, try to get it thinner. was recommended .06" contact patch across the tip?

cheers,

Mark

There is really no measurement for the witness mark. I would have no conflict with the way it sits now. Like I said before, the only way to get it any better is to use an adjustable guide plate and that will not make the witness mark any thinner. If you have it downloaded, check out page 293 (paper) or 295 (pdf) in the new catalog. It should clear things up quite a bit.
