Default what would be a good rearend gear for my car
ok i have a 96 firebird formula lt1 car weighs 3120 without driver. i built a 355 lt1 with 11.7 to 1 compression and the cam i have in it is the comp cam XFI 292XFI HR13 with a th400 w/brake and a 3800 stall convertor. the rear tires are 295/50r16 mt et street radials. the car has 3.23 gears in it right now in the stock 10 bolt i plan on changing the complete rearend down the road. my question is what would be a good rearend gear ratio for it i was thinking about 4.10 but i wanted to see what you guys think? i live 8 mins from my local drag strip and i will drive it to the track but thats about all let me know what you guys think

I think the 4.10's would work great for this setup. You may call and speak with your gear manufacturer to see what they suggest before purchasing though.
