XFI points wire

Does the points wire need to go to an ignition control box or can it go directly to the negitive side of a coil?

The points wire is intended to trigger a capacitive discharge ignition box. There is no internal igniter to directly fire a coil. Attempting to directly fire a coil with this points wire will cause damage to the points driver in the ECU.

Will a MSD 6A work?

I got the XFI to work on a 1994 Jeep GC, it is nice to be able to adjust all the pramaters within the system, The duel sync distributer can be retrofitted in the stock distributer, just need to drill some holes and a little grinding did the job. The one from FAST will not fit, as it hits the intake manifold. other than that it it works GREAT.
And the MSD 6A also works
Now to fine tune the XFI for rock crawling.
What ever you do, make a copy of one of the run programs and work with it until it does not, then reinstall and start over, as you can tell I am a carberator person.

The MSD 6AL is the most common box to use with an XFI. The 7 and 8 series also work well in higher horsepower and cyll pressure applications.

Sorry, the 6A will work fine also since the XFI has a built in rev limiter, you don't need the rev limiter in the 6AL.
