Default ZEX blackout delivered with too short nitrous line
I ordered my ZEX blackout kit for my 2009 Dodge Challenger. After watching the install video and following the directions to the letter, the nitrous feed ine from the trunk is too short by nearly 16". I have rerouted it 3 times with zero success. There is zero slack in the line as it sits right now, so if my chassis flexes, I am going to damage the line. Why was this kit (which I waited 3 weeks for) shipped with a line that, as it turns out, was closer to 14' than it was to 16'? Now I have to rig up a line extention to tryu and make this custom kit work. I tried calling ZEX today at 1230 central time and the phone just rang for 20 or so rings before I finally figured they have no answering machine and were not going to answer. Great tech support huh? I need someone from ZEX to get back to me about what can be done to increwase the line length safely.

I am sorry to hear you got a wrong part with your kit. I have never seen a hose off by such a large amount as 2 feet before so this is a very odd case. If you would like to send that hose back in to me we could send you a new hose back out. If you called the tech line and it just rang then it would seem you called the wrong number, unfortunately. The ZEX toll free number is 1-888-817-1008. It would be possible to get a busy signal, if our lines are overloaded, or to be on hold for a while but not for the phone to just ring as you would at the very least get our voicemail. The Tech Line is a free service we provide and we take care of 800-1200 calls a day on just the Comp and ZEX tech lines. You will typically get a hold time as our techs are on the phone from the time they sign in untill the time they leave, but we are always happy to help if we can. You can feel free to call me direct also, if you prefer, to discuss this further. You can call 901-795-2400 and ask to speak with Aaron in the Tech Office. If you get my voivce mail just leave me a message and I will call you back at my first opprotunity.

Aaron,
I sent you an e-mail from my work address with a picture of how short the supply line is. Please note that in order to get the line as close as it shows in the picture took rerouting it 3 times and making it so tight that if I were to hit a bump the line would tear out of the fitting or pull the fitting out somewhere. I left you 2 messages at the number you provided. Please call me as soon as possible. I need this issue corrected.

Scott I was glad to see we got you taken care of. Since you could not post up again I have posted the response for you. Thank you again for working with us and let us know if you need anything else. By the way the car looks great.

I tried to post up with the images of the install, but was denied since I do not yet have minimum of 10 posts. I guess you could post this for me:

Okay fans of happy gas.... I have been working with ZEX on this issue. In this case, turning the bottle in the trunk 180 degrees so that the valve is on the passengers side solved everything.

Default Connecting the power point plug
For those of you not trained as electricians or professional auto wiring experts..... when connecting the power point 12V plug in, make sure that the wire with out the writting on it goes to the RED wire and the one with writting on it goes to ground. The directions leave out any mention of how to correctly wire this up. I picked a wire and it went to ground and the other to power. As soo as I plugged it in and pushed the button, I blew the fuse inside the 12V plug in. Save yourself some time and go no writting wire to power and writting wire to ground.
These instructions leave way too much important information out.

Now to figure out how to use the fuel rail supply tool to disconnect the fuel supply. This bit of info is also left out. Oh yeah, in order to depressurize the fuel system, pull the #6 20 amp fuse from the trunk mounted fuse box. This is the fuel pump fuse. Start the car and let it run until it dies, then try to strat it a few more times after that.
As soon as I it 10 posts I will be able to add pictures of the wiring and locations of everything.

After calling BMC Performance, they helped me with the tool that removes the fuel line. From that point it took less than 3 minutes to install the fuel feed line. Why is there so much information left out of the instructions? This is a custom fit kit, would it have been that much trouble to actually include real instructions in the supplied instructions? I love the kit, but am very dissatisfied with the supplied instructions. Perhaps ZEX will revise the instructions for future buyers and save them the headaches, blown fuses, line routing issues and fuel system removal issues.
