ZEX™ Takes On The Challenger

Among the newest systems from ZEX™ is one for 2008-2009 Dodge Challengers powered by V8 Hemi engines (Part #82322). The Dodge 5.7L/6.1L EFI Hemi engines are the perfect platform for nitrous injection upgrades and the new system for this application is extensively engineered for simple plug and play installation. Among the application specific components are custom-designed brackets and a special fuel line adapter that helps you finish the installation in only 2-3 hours.

For the ultimate in engine safety, the ZEX™ kit uses an advanced safety technology called Active Fuel Control™. This exclusive ZEX™ technology monitors the nitrous bottle pressure and adjusts the kit’s fuel enrichment so your engine never runs too rich or too lean.

The ZEX™ patented electronic TPS switch is another example of safe engineering. A ZEX™ exclusive, the throttle position activation feature engages the nitrous only at wide-open throttle. This technology not only makes it easy for you to activate the nitrous, but it is fully compatible with the Challenger’s throttle-by-wire engine. And most exciting of all, the system is adjustable from 75 to 175 hp; perfect for mild to wild performance!

As you would expect of this new system, it is at the top of performance upgrades for fans of the long awaited '08-'09 Dodge Challenger. And like all ZEX™ nitrous systems, installation by the do-it-yourself individual is an uncomplicated and straightforward process. The process begins by locating a place to mount the nitrous bottle.

With the bottle location determined, the brackets are used as a template for drilling the bolt mounting holes. After the holes are drilled, the nitrous bottle is bolted in.

Next the nitrous supply line is fed through the trunk area and then routed under the car and into the engine compartment.

A location to place the nitrous management unit is found and the unit is mounted. Then the nitrous supply lines are connected.

Now the air intake duct is removed and a hole is drilled to install the nitrous nozzle.

Next the nitrous nozzle is installed.

With the intake duct back in position, the tuning jets are installed and the nozzle feed lines are connected.

The wiring is now connected. The red wire is the power wire, the black is the ground and the white is the TPS wire.

This is the unique power point arming switch that keeps you from having to drill holes in your new interior!

With the arming switch in place the nitrous system is powered-up.

The final step is the connection of the fuel lines.
